Make exploration worthwhile, let us discover places worth revisiting

Please add many special locations to the game that are worth discovering - not just for a one time experience. Make it also useful in terms of gameplay and more importantly make them interesting to revisit later on (including for gameplay). Not all has to be about the location itself - some should be about the creatures that inhabit it.

Imagine exploring a deep cave and suddently there is some weird but also cool looking glowing thing on the ceiling. The scanner identifies it as some bacterial growth but fails to identify its composition and you take a few samples back to the biolab. There you discover the bacterial colony produces a mineral which you can process into copper and it regrows. so you found a renewable source of copper - a place worth revisiting.

Unique places make exploration more interesting and meaningful. The great jaw should fall into the same category. And the hammerheads and the big crabs? we should discover something special about them - for the prior there could be special corals that yield extra quartz when rammed. The latter could help us dig up stuff from the ground like the Sea Treaders from SN1.

But right now the story leads us quickly through all the biomes. so we go where the signal points us to, explore a little bit enjoying the views, maybe pick up some resurces from the biome along the way… and then we move on to because there is little else to do and find there. i find this is a wasted opportunity.

My older suggestions on this with a bit different focus but more details:
https://subnautica2.nolt.io/7289 (localtions with resource respawning)
https://subnautica2.nolt.io/8257 (research quests for creatures)
https://subnautica2.nolt.io/12409 (hauler mechanics for special encounters)

but also metal farms rendering exploration less relevant:

There are already anomalies to find, some marked in the scanner, some not. There are also hidden nooks and crannies with data cards for decorative items (I’ve found two so far.)

I’m for the idea overall, but I think they’re already implementing it.

@Gryphon which of those places you mentioned are more then a one time experienes and worth revisiting? currently i found only two things:

  1. Axum lightning towers around which conductive crystals spawn
  2. Salt nodes on the coral in the graveyard do respawn.

there are quite a few places with the potential to evolve into something special, one would want to come back to. maybe just to unlock more of its secrets. but for now, there is no gameplay reason to.
