Scanner Station possible improvement

A lot of people dislike that the Scanner Station can only pin one resource at a time. I’ve seen some ideas about adding upgrades to fix this, but personally, I think it would be better to balance it through energy consumption. For example, the base Scanner Station energy cost could be lowered, but every time you pin an additional material, the energy drain increases. This way, scanning for multiple resources is possible and the Scanner Station keeps its minimalistic style

I hope there’s upgrade modules for the scanner system as the game gets more developed. The current system is fine for the early progression steps, but even by the end of the current game it’s already largely useless. Modular upgrades to make it more useful as we progress through the game would be a good idea imo

Maybe an expansion feature or straight up function to advance to “next targetable resource” on the go.

I hope we eventully get a range upgrade modual that allows you to dynamicly ajust the range you want it to “see” but that will have a proportional effect on energy consumption based on the detection range.

I think it would be great to have it like subnautica 1 where you have to put the upgrade into the scanner building so the material way points go to your hud or whatever it was I can’t remember but it’s a lot better than just one.

I would personally just like to have the scanner station removed and replaced with the OG scanner room. I don’t think it would cause any issues because the og scanner room is just convenient overall.

while I would rather have an option to have it mark all detection pings… they could also have a late game dedicated module similar to SN1.. with more range and the modules..
