Combining tadpole chassis & future seamless docking controls transition

I’ve seen a couple of people who want a crab like chassis instead of something similar to the PRAWN suit. While I’d like that option maybe as a tankier, vertically wall climbing chassis, I think there is room for a PRAWN or Bullfrog humanoid chassis, especially if in the future we need to explore more cramped caves and/or dry areas.

My ideas are more mid-to-end-game:

1 - The first would be to be able to either upgrade the tadpole or create a combination chassis that would allow to use multiple chassis together. I am imagining using a humanoid/mecha suit with the “Wings” of the scout ray, where you can explore/transport cargo at a decent pace (Not as fast as if you had only the scout module on), but can also ditch the fast module to go “on foot” with the mech to explore interesting caves and mine.

Inspiration for this would be Gundam/Evangelions/Knightmare Frame mechs that start by walking, running, jumping and even “skiing” with wheels but eventually are upgraded to have flying capabilities or are transported by air support modules.

2 - The second idea would be about a probable bigger submarine to be added in the future. It would be based on and expand the modularity and docking idea into one, where you could dock your tadpole directly into a command cockpit taking control of the bigger submarine. I imagine this would be more useful in single player and could create problems with who is controlling the sub if there is someone already in control of the big sub (Should be a matter of prioritizing the main controls).

In my mind that would create a very futuristic seamless transition of control and integration between smaller and bigger means of transportation. The idea would be that this bigger sub would have a main control room but also a forward facing dock point where you could attach and immediately control it.

3 - Lastly, Incorporating and expanding all that even further beyond:

With multiplayer if/when we get a bigger submarine it would probably need to be bigger than the Cyclops was, and have more functionality so that other players have something to do that benefits the group. That could be simply undocking and controlling a smaller sub to mine or scout, or could be controlling “weapons”. Now when I say that I’m thinking of resonator cannons as deterrents to keep leviathans away and/or stun them temporarily (which would allow us to scan them “safely” too!).

This could also be a combination of the docked tadpoles, instead of starting with those cannons by default on the sides (or top and bottom), front and back there could be 4 individual docking points where the smaller subs aren’t pulled completely into the big sub and instead remain partially out (Like ball turrets from the B17s Flying Fortress) with the “guns” usable (resonators, decoys/flares or torpedoes like the ones from the first game).

This would make upgrades to the tadpoles useful in multiple cenarios but could require a lot of resources to make and seems to go agains the current idea of up to 3 players using the same tadpole. However, multiple tadpoles would double as multiple escape pods in the event of being forced to abandon ship. (Unless 3 escape in one tadpole and the captain goes down with the sub haha)

Thanks for reading, I know it’s a lot. :^)
