It would be cool if the Axum Vision Adaptation had a broader effect than just showing a few extra lights and messages. You’re expanding your visible spectrum, after all; sadly there’s very limited ability to show the new spectrum, but it would be cool if, say, large chunks of the power plant and metal farm turned out to be actually very well lit to Axum eyes. Maybe even introduce some new species of fish that are dark and stealthy and well-camoflaged to human eyes, but are colorful and visible with the Axum adaptation.
It would be extra interesting in multiplayer, where you could make ‘secret’ areas that are lit up only by Axum lights and are pitch dark to anyone who doesn’t have the adaptation yet.

I really like the idea of the fish that are nearly perfectly camouflaged to human eyes but not Axum eyes!!!
It also ties into a really fun fact about real life humans: green and red are, objectively, basically the same colour. By which I mean, the cone cell type that we consider sensitive to “red” light and the cone cell type that we consider sensitive to “green” light are actually nearly identically sensitive to any given wavelength of light. The probably reason that we can differentiate them is most easily explained with tigers: to our eyes where red is a distinct colour to green, they stand out against a green background of leaves and such because they’re bright orange, but to most mammals who don’t have the extra red cone cell type, they are in fact pretty much exactly the same colour as the background foliage.
