Better Switch-Axe feedback.

I think part of why people want to be able to kill the fish is because of the lack of visual feedback from hitting our predators away. Especially nibbler mangos and other smaller predators. It doesn’t feel satisfying. In Subnautica 1, your knife was a sharp blade, and it drew blood with each hit. It was good visual feedback to the player that you were, in fact, doing damage.

Subnautica 2 lacks this. The Switch-Axe does pop out its blade when you’re hitting things, but it’s so faint and quick that it doesn’t even register in my head. I think having the blade pop out automatically and not retract while a predator is nearby would do wonders for the visual feedback making it less frustrating to use against Nibblers and the like. Especially if it draws blood from the fish.

Currently, it just kinda feels like hitting fish with a squeaky plastic hammer.
